Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and AlertPaisa. By installing or using the AlertPaisa app, you agree to them. Please read them, especially the part about checking payments in your bank or UPI app.

Who we are

AlertPaisa is run by Yagyesh Bobde, an individual sole proprietor trading as AlertPaisa. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Yagyesh Bobde, and "you" means the person or business using the app.

Who can use AlertPaisa

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You must use AlertPaisa for a business in India, such as a shop, stall or service.
  • The information you give us, like your phone number and shop name, must be true and up to date.

What AlertPaisa does

AlertPaisa is an Android app. When a supported payment app (PhonePe, PhonePe Business, Google Pay, Google Pay for Business, Paytm, Paytm for Business or BHIM) shows a payment notification on your phone, AlertPaisa reads it, says the amount out loud using your phone's Google Text-to-Speech, and adds it to your collection list and reports. If you have a team, your staff also get the payment on their phones.

What it cannot promise

An announcement is not proof of payment. Always check the payment in your bank or UPI app before you hand over goods or services. Your bank or UPI app is the only source of truth for money received.

AlertPaisa depends on things we do not control:

  • Android and your phone maker's battery and background settings, which can stop apps from running.
  • The payment app actually showing a notification, on time and in its usual format.
  • The Text-to-Speech engine and the volume on your phone.
  • Your internet connection, for syncing and team alerts.

So some payments may be announced late, announced wrongly or not announced at all. The app's Permissions & health screen helps you find and fix common problems.

Not a bank or payment app

  • AlertPaisa is not a bank, payment app or payment aggregator. Your customers' payments do not go through us, and we never hold your money.
  • AlertPaisa is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by PhonePe, Google, Paytm, BHIM or NPCI. Their names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which apps AlertPaisa works with.

Your account

  • You sign in with your phone number and a 6-digit OTP sent by SMS. The OTP is valid for 10 minutes.
  • Never share your OTP. Anyone with your OTP can sign in to your account.
  • Keep your phone locked. You are responsible for what happens in your account on your devices.
  • If you think someone else is using your account, email contact@alertpaisa.in straight away.

Teams

The shop owner can invite staff with their phone number or a 6-digit team code. Every active team member can see the shop's payment list and reports, and gets each payment (amount, payment app and payer name) on their phone.

  • The owner is responsible for who they invite and for removing people who should no longer have access.
  • Only invite people who work with you and who should see your shop's payments.
  • Team members must follow these terms too.

Subscription and billing

  • Plans: a monthly plan (₹99 a month) or a yearly plan (₹999 a year). These are planned launch prices. The final price is shown in the app before you pay. Prices shown in the app are final and include applicable taxes.
  • Free trial: you get a 1 day free trial.
  • Starting the trial: you set up UPI AutoPay with a ₹1 verification payment. This ₹1 is refunded to the same account within 24 hours.
  • Auto-renewal: your plan renews automatically through UPI AutoPay. You approve the AutoPay mandate with your UPI PIN in your own UPI app, under RBI rules for e-mandates. Before each renewal debit, your bank or UPI app sends you a pre-debit notification, as RBI rules require.
  • Payments: are handled by our payment partner, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator. We never see your UPI PIN.
  • Cancelling: cancel anytime in the app under Settings → Subscription → Cancel subscription, or revoke the AutoPay mandate in your UPI app. There is no cancellation fee. Alerts stay on until your paid-through date and you are not charged again. Your history and team are kept.
  • Failed renewal: if a renewal payment fails, alerts pause.
  • Price changes: we will tell you in advance in the app. A higher price needs your approval under the AutoPay mandate rules. If you do not approve it, your plan ends at the end of the period you have paid for.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use AlertPaisa for anything illegal, including fraud or money laundering.
  • Install it on a phone that is not yours, or use it to watch someone's payments without their permission.
  • Create fake payment notifications or use announcements to trick customers or staff.
  • Copy, change, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it.
  • Abuse sign-in, for example by requesting OTPs for numbers that are not yours.
  • Try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to our servers or other users' data.

Our app and content

The AlertPaisa app, name, logo, design and content belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for your business while your account is in good standing. Your payment data is yours. You let us use it only to run AlertPaisa for you, as our Privacy Policy explains.

No guarantees

AlertPaisa is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it running well, but we do not promise that it will always work, be error-free or announce every payment.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • We are not liable for missed, late or wrong announcements, or for any loss that follows, such as handing over goods for a payment that did not arrive.
  • We are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost data or other indirect losses.
  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other laws that cannot be excluded by agreement.

Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law while using AlertPaisa, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you will cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim.

Suspension and closing

  • You can stop using AlertPaisa at any time. To close your account, see Delete your account.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users at risk, or that the law requires us to act on. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and tell you in the app before an important change applies. If you keep using AlertPaisa after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction, subject to your rights as a consumer to approach a consumer commission.
